IRON MAIDEN RE ISSUE FIRST ALBUM TO CELEBRATE 40TH ANNIVERSARY
Iron Maiden yesterday announced they will be re issuing their eponymous first album to celebrate the albums 40th anniversary.
The album will be available to buy on Friday 9th October on a crystal clear picture disc and will not only celebrate the anniversary of the album, which reached No. 4 in the charts, but it will also mark 2020’s National Album Day, on October 10th – a celebration of the long-player in association with the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).
The limited edition crystal clear vinyl picture disc is available to pre-order here.
The album features early Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno and is the only album to feature guitarist Dennis Stratton who left the band in October 1980
Songs such as ‘Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘Running Free’ and ‘Iron Maiden’ are considered classics amongst the Maiden fanbase and still feature in many of the band’s live sets today.
Iron Maiden was the album that saw the East London band start the journey that has led them over the course of four decades, sixteen studio albums, over 90 million album sales and more than 2000 concerts around the globe, to become the biggest and most acclaimed metal band on the planet.
