THE STROKES, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE AND PLACEBO TO PLAY ‘ROCK EN SEINE’ THIS AUGUST

Paris’s festival returns in full force for 2023! This summer, Rock en Seine is hosting the ultimate celebration on 23rd, 25th, 26th and 27th August for its 20th anniversary, with a line up to do it justice.

Over four incredible days, the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud will welcome the world’s biggest stars… Billie Eilish, Placebo, The Chemical Brothers, Florence + The Machine, and The Strokes with an exceptional supporting line up of special guests…

The weekend begins early at Rock en Seine this year! The utterly brilliant, 21-year-old era defining artist Billie Eilish tops the bill for the opening day of Rock en Seine on Wednesday 23rd August. She will be joined by an all-female lineup that’s tough to beat, including the immensely talented Norwegian musician and producer Girl In Red plus Swedish pop queen Tove Lo, and one of the hottest TikTok revelations Hannah Grae.

On Friday 25th August, Rock en Seine is proud to welcome an iconic group who have enjoyed nearly 3 decades of success and sold more than 11 million albums worldwide in the process. Placebo will be back on the Paris stage, 11 years after their last visit to the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud. Acclaimed Swedish singer and producer Fever Ray joins the billing, Turnstile, the much loved hardcore punk band hailing from Baltimore, and French Bertrand Belin bringing a pop sound of unparalleled class.

True to the tradition of an eclectic festival line up, on Saturday 26th August Rock en Seine welcomes the ultimate party headliners, electronic music’s most iconic duo Chemical Brothers. When it couldn’t get much bigger, we’re also excited to welcome the heavenly Florence + The Machine, fresh from their stunning Dance Fever tour. The legendary electronic trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs are back on the live stage for this incredible day – they recently returned with their fifth studio record, Cool It Down, last year – their first since 2013’s Mosquito. Belgian-Egyptian singer Tamino also graces the billing, along with Belgian DJ and producer Charlotte De Witte and British punk outfit, Dry Cleaning.

On Sunday 27th August, our 20th anniversary will come to a memorable close and end on the ultimate festival high. None other than New York legends The Strokes will make their Rock en Seine debut, a headliner that’s 20 years in the making. And they won’t be alone… one of the best live bands around today, Foals, join alongside the divine Angel Olsen, Mercury-Prize nominated duo Wet Leg and the impressive The Murder Capital, as well as the unclassifiable artist Flavien Berger.

Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, says, “Rock en Seine continues to go from strength to strength with the team delivering another amazing line up. It is celebrating its 20th anniversary having reestablished itself as one of Europe’s leading festivals.

Matthieu Ducos, GM at Rock en Seine Festival, says, “20 years already we started the show. We are very proud of the journey so far but the best is yet to come. After a very successful returning 2022 edition, we are very excited about the lineup for this year, mixing the very best of the new pop stars and historic rock bands the fans have been longing to see for years.”

Rock en Seine is a festival committed to helping worthy causes that are close to our heart. Through our Club Avant Seine and Première Seine programmes, we work across a number of causes – from championing the next generation of artists to minimising our carbon footprint, ensuring women’s safety at the festival and promoting diversity through our line-up.

Last summer saw a historic year for Rock en Seine bringing together 150,000 fans and the biggest programme the Paris festival has ever seen with iconic headliners: Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kraftwerk and Jamie xx plus many more incredible acts.

Located in Domaine National de Saint-Cloud in the heart of Paris, Rock en Seine offers the perfect city festival experience – combining a city getaway for UK music fans with an unforgettable weekend at one of Europe’s leading festivals. See you there to celebrate our twentieth anniversary with us!
