HAWKWIND ADDED TO SPECIAL BILL OF SOCIALLY DISTANT CONCERTS AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM NEXT YEAR
Legendary space rockers Hawkwind have been added to a series of concerts which will take place at the London Palladium next year.
The newly formed Europa Concerts, headed up by renowned concert promoter Mike Jones, are proud to present the concert series which also sees performances by Midge Ure, The Dualers and The House & Garage Orchestra.
The London Palladium have successfully put on a series of Covid-safe events this year, making this newly announced series of concerts the perfect setting to wash away the winter blues and to enjoy the start of 2021.
Hawkwind have seen 22 of their albums consecutively chart between 1971 and 1993 and they have a discography spanning a whopping five decades. The fabled quintet will be taking attendees on a thrilling tour of their biggest and best moments as they continue on their epic, intergalactic journey.
Hawkwind add: “It’s a really exciting prospect to be back playing the London Palladium in February 2021. A little over 2 years ago we played 2 nights to a packed venue and, although it will be to a smaller crowd because of social distancing, it feels more important than ever to be out there, performing again. We only got to play one gig last year and, for those of us who have been gigging every year for decades, it’s been hard. Creativity depends on a balance between rehearsing, recording and performing, all these elements depend on each other for the artistic process. Our new album Carnivorous was inspired by, and written during, lockdown and the show will highlight recent events with all the mind-blowing theatricality that you would expect from Hawkwind. The band that are known for predicting dystopian futures now arrive in Dystopia.”
HEALTH & SAFETY AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM
All events at The London Palladium exceed the Government’s current Coronavirus and social distancing guidelines. Customers’ safety is of paramount importance and therefore, across the theatre, they have reconfigured their seating to ensure that audience bubbles are seated at least 1m apart. This includes respacing rows in the stalls to guarantee a 1m distance in front and behind and beside each group. An audience bubble must be a group of 6 people or less from a single household or support bubble.
The spacing between seats is part of a wide suite of health and safety measures, including the mandatory wearing of face coverings, which enables them to operate confidently and safely. Please click here for a PDF version of the LW Theatres Audience Guide.
