GLASTONBURY CANCELLED FOR A SECOND YEAR DUE TO COVID PANDEMIC

Yet another blow for our already struggling music industry comes today, as it was announced that Glastonbury has been cancelled for the second year running because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.

Festival organisers Michael and Emily Eavis commented;

“With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us. In spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the festival happen this year. We are so sorry to let you all down.”

Following this devastating news any hope that the festival may be postponed until later in the year has been squashed as the Eavis’ continue;

“The event will not be rescheduled for this year. Information for ticketholders is available from the festival’s website. “We are very confident we can deliver something really special for us all in 2022!”

This is a tremendous blow to a music industry that is already on its knees and of course, the Eavis’ themselves. Glastonbury is the largest festival of the season, seeing an average audience of 200,00 and now we can only speculate as to what ramifications this will have on the rest of the festival circuit.
