AC/DC SINGLE ‘SHOT IN THE DARK’ TO BE RELEASED ON WEDNESDAY
Excitement is growing as today, following a string of social media updates over the past week, AC/DC have finally announced they will release their brand new single ‘Shot In The Dark’ on Wednesday.
The band have been drip feeding bits of information about their highly anticipated return since last Monday and today’s announcement was ‘the icing on the cake’. The band have confirmed that ‘Shot in the Dark’ will be released at 5 am on Wednesday 7th October, finally we will hear the track in all it’s glory.
Last week after releasing the album line up, confirming that Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd are back and then dropping a 30 second snippet of the single, all went quiet. But, today, fans are delighted at the news. Fans were also treated to yet another taster of things to come.
Over the weekend, Jon Alba of AC/DCFans.Net interviewed
long-time AC/DC sound engineer Mike Fraser, to discuss the AC/DC recording process. Fraser has recorded the last five albums including PWRUP at the Warehouse Studio’s in Vancouver.
In the interview the pair discussed how the iconic AC/DC sound was achieved and how finding that sound has evolved over the years, from turning up with a truck load of amplifiers to now just knowing what works. They also talked about laying Brian’s vocals down and how he prefers to record without headphones, working with studio monitors, more akin to being onstage. Mike also dispels (and confirms?) some rumours regarding PWR/UP, and much, much more. Listen to the entire interview here
AC/DC are certainly ‘Powering up’ and one thing is for sure, we will all wake up to something quite special on Wednesday morning!
