THE WATERBOYS RELEASE 14TH ALBUM ‘GOOD LUCK SEEKER’ ON COOKING VINYL

The Waterboys release their 14th studio album Good Luck, Seeker today to widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike. The Daily Telegraph have hailed it as one of their cultural highlights of the summer whilst Uncut, Mojo, Classic Rock, Record Collector and more are claiming it as one of the band’s greatest records.

The great reaction to Good Luck, Seeker has been echoed worldwide with fantastic reviews running in North America, Australia and Europe.

Waterboys leader Mike Scott has also produced a string of striking psychedelic videos to accompany many of the songs on the album. The brand new video out today to accompany the track ‘Dennis Hopper, is an explosion of rock’n’roll symbolism, celebrating the life and style of one of film’s greatest rebels – a kindred spirit to the Waterboys’ band-leader himself.

Mike Scott says: “I love Dennis Hopper, man. He was there at every stage of the twentieth-century counter-culture. Schooled at the Actor’s Studio, mentored by James Dean, a supporter of the young Andy Warhol. He burned forever in celluloid the image of the “head” then zoned off beyond the outer limits and came back soul intact and a twinkle in his eye. What a cat!”

‘Dennis Hopper’ follows the previously released videos for this album – ‘Postcard From The Celtic Dreamtime’, ‘The Soul Singer’ and ‘Low Down In The Broom’ – in an unfolding visual analog to what is one of the most essential albums of The Waterboys’ career.

More videos will roll out in a series of Video Mondays, starting with the high-speed colour-fest of ‘Freak Street’ on Monday August 24th. The videos were shot and directed by Scott with editing by Duende Visions of Nashville, except ‘Postcard From The Celtic Dreamtime’, filmed by Steve Wickham and edited by Steve and Tom Wickham.
