MICHAEL ARMSTRONG TO RELEASE FORTHCOMING ALBUM ‘OJAI’ ON 25TH JUNE ALONG WITH SECOND SINGLE ‘EACH OTHERS EYES’
Singer/songwriter and friend of Stoakes Media Michael Armstrong will release his third album Ojai on the 25th June.
Along with the release, the second single will drop in conjunction with the album. You can check out the video for Each Others Eyes below:
The song was written by Michael Armstrong and Sam Stringfield, produced by Michael Armstrong, and features the following musicians: Jon Howells (Drums and Percussion), Dan Hawkins (Bass), Antoine Saults (Electric Guitars), plus Michael himself (Vocals, Backing Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano, Keys and Percussion).
Michael said of the song “This track was written over a few hours in Ojai, California, whilst on a songwriting retreat with US singer songwriter Ben Folds. Everyone there was aksed to write the lyrics for an out and out love song and then these were all put into a bag. We each chose randomly form the bag and had to write music to the lyrics we had pulled out. A great American songwriter called Sam Stringfiield wrote the lyrics I chose and this song was born. It’s just meant to be a lot fun, uplifting and bring a smile to your face. I tried to echo that with the video. I’m not a dancer at all and so it’s very much tongue in cheek!”
We eagerly await the release of Ojai next month and you can be sure we’ll be reviewing what promises to be a stunning album on Stoakes Media. Plus, Michael will be appearing on Danny’s ‘Stoakes Media Live’ show on Radio TFSC towards the end of June to coincide with the album release.
