AC/DC CONFIRM LINE UP FOR NEW ALBUM, FEATURING BRIAN JOHNSON, CLIFF WILLIAMS AND PHIL RUDD
After months of speculation AC/DC have today announced the line up for the next record. Seemingly entitled PWRUP, this follows teaser video’s and social media updates that we have seen earlier this week.
Yesterday we saw an 8 second teaser video of AC/DC’s iconic lightening bolt flickering in bright, red-neon, accompanied by a high voltage hum. All social media posts have the hashtag #PWRUP.
Until today the line up was a closely guarded secret, images on the website had the band members name covered in yellow tape but now the full line up has been announced.
Speculation has been growing for the last few years about which members would feature on the album, after AC/DC members were spotted outside a recording studio in Vancouver in 2018. The album is rumoured to feature guitar parts written by Malcolm and Angus Young before Black Ice.
Since 2018, we have seen a few instances of members joining other bands for a song or two. Angus played with Guns and Roses following the completion of the Rock or Bust tour and Brian Johnson also played with Muse at Reading festival in 2017 and joined Mick Fleetwood to sing a rendition of Route 66 early 2018. Johnson also appeared alongside Robert Plant and Paul Rogers in 2017.
The album features guitarists Angus and Stevie Young, bass player Cliff Williams, drummer Phil Rudd and see’s Brian Johnson return to his vocal duties.
Last week the band ‘leaked’ pictures from an apparent video shoot showing the five members together once more.
